Click the context menu at the top right of the page to select a status. By default, your status will be set to “available”.

Select the “Invisible” option from the drop down menu to set your status. This will ensure all of your buddies will be unable to see when you sign in and out of the imo.im service. You will still be able to communicate with buddies.

Click the “Add Account” button in the top right corner of your screen.

Select one of the supported third-party messaging services that you want to link to the imo messaging services. (Note: The account you used to sign in to the imo service initially is already linked to your imo account.

Sign in using the username/email and password associated with your account for the third-party service you selected.

Click the “Login” button to complete the process and add the account.

Click the “Link accounts” button in the top right corner of your screen. (Note: This button will only appear once two or more accounts have been added to your imo account.) Linking accounts allows you to automatically sign in to all of your added services while only using one to sign in to the imo service.

Click a contact from your “IMO Contacts” list to start a new chat. This will automatically open a new conversation in the middle of your screen.

Enter text for your instant message into the text input field attached to the newly opened conversation.

Click the “Send” button next to the text input field to send your IM. Alternatively, you can press the “enter” button on your keyboard to send the IM.

Hover over the buddy you want to unblock from the “Blocked” list on the right side of your screen. Click the “Unblock” button to unblock the user.

Register for one of the third-party messaging services supported by the imo service. The service does not currently have its own registration process. Once registered for one of the supported third-party services, you are automatically registered with imo.Im.
